This page provides a high-level overview of what external partners need to know before working in our ProjectWise environment.

ProjectWise is used as the system of record for project documents and deliverables. All external users are expected to follow the standards outlined on this site.

What ProjectWise is used for

ProjectWise is used to:

  • Store and manage project documents
  • Control access and permissions
  • Track document versions and history
  • Support collaboration between internal and external teams

ProjectWise is not intended for: - Informal file sharing - Draft exchanges outside of defined workflows - Long-term storage of non-project-related content

ProjectWise Access Confirmation

Your primary point of contact for ProjectWise-related questions, including document and folder access, is the project-level ProjectWise Administrator.

Licensing Requirements

JMT does not provide ProjectWise licenses to external participants.

To work in JMT’s ProjectWise environment and to utilize integrated CAD workspaces, external users must obtain ProjectWise Design Integration (PWDI) Visas. Licensing is available through Virtuosity or by calling 1-800-BENTLEY to establish a Bentley SELECT account and download the software.

JMT currently utilizes ProjectWise Explorer version 24.0.05.8016.

ProjectWise Explorer Setup

Integrated CAD workflows require the ProjectWise Explorer application to be installed.

Datasource Configuration

Name: JMT

Hostname: jmt-pw.bentley.com

Port: 5800

After configuration, reopen ProjectWise Explorer. The JMT Production datasource will be available for login. External users may only log into JMT Production.

Authentication & Login

JMT uses Bentley IMS authentication. Your Bentley IMS identity must be your business email address. Register and log in using the Bentley CONNECTION Client.

  • Run on system startup

  • Automatically sign in

  • Minimize after sign-in

Working Directory

On first login, accept the default working directory location.

Account Expiration

Accounts with no login activity for 90 days are automatically disabled. To reactivate your account, please reach out to the JMT Project Administrator

Basic usage expectations

All external users are expected to:

  • Check files out before making edits
  • Check files back in when work is complete
  • Use the approved folder structure
  • Follow file naming standards
  • Avoid creating duplicate or ad-hoc folders

Failure to follow these expectations may result in delayed reviews or rejected submissions.

Deliverables and submissions

Unless otherwise directed by the project team:

  • Deliverables should be uploaded to the designated project folders
  • Files should be checked in and free of local-only references
  • Final submissions should not overwrite prior approved versions

Project-specific instructions may override general guidance on this site.
